World TB Day

World TB Day is observed every year on March 24th to raise awareness about the devastating health, social, and economic impact of tuberculosis worldwide. The theme for this year’s event is “The Clock is Ticking,” drawing attention to the urgent need to accelerate efforts towards ending TB by 2030. TB is the world’s deadliest infectious disease, claiming around 4,000 lives every day, and about one-third of the world’s population is estimated to be infected with the bacteria that cause TB.As an engineering consultant company in Uganda, Icon Geo-Engineering Solutions – IGES may be involved in developing and implementing projects such as groundwater drilling that can contribute to enhancing access to safe water and sanitation, which are essential for preventing the spread of TB. For example, drilling wells to provide access to clean water can help reduce the risk of contracting TB by improving hygiene and reducing the transmission of the bacteria.Icon Ge-Engineering Solutions may also play a role in raising awareness about TB among its employees, customers, and the wider community through education and outreach initiatives. Such efforts can help counter the stigma and discrimination often associated with TB and promote early detection and treatment, which are critical for controlling the disease. As an engineering consultant company in Uganda with a focus on groundwater drilling, we understand the significance of World Tuberculosis Day.
